Problem solving for employers

A good approach in business is to consider the value you can add to different prospect clients by solving real world problems they have. The bigger their problem and the better your solution, the higher the perceived value in what you offer.

Now, as any landlord knows, rental voids have an immediate, unwanted impact on your business, and during the pandemic that has been one of the biggest challenges for our business in Maidstone. As the lockdown lifted though, a lot of the local employers needed to recruit new members of staff quickly, often by bringing people in from out of area.

One in particular contacted us through the website and were absolutely delighted to find out that we were able to provide flexible numbers of rooms for their staff, all fully furnished and including all of the bills in compliant HMO’s. Previously they had rented whole properties, furnished them, managed the utilities, the property maintenance and compliance themselves. Not only was it inflexible in terms of the number of staff they could accommodate, but they also found that they really struggled to manage everything at the property as it was outside of their experience and staff skill sets.

It was a win win for all of us, since we managed to get five of our empty rooms let very quickly, and they were able to add extra much needed staff to their team, safe in the knowledge they were staying in well managed house shares, and without the additional challenges to deal with which they had previously had.

We have a number of small employers who we find great to work with. They tend to be practical and efficient to deal with, and it is a relationship which has long term benefits for both parties.
